Our blog is here to guide you through the wedding planning process with expert advice, real wedding inspiration, and behind-the-scenes insights from our shoots.
Thanks for stopping by!
After 6 years experience in the business and having planned two weddings between the both of us plus documenting 20+++ weddings together, one can argue that we have become self-declared pros on the subject of “Don’t forget’s”. So whether you are in the early stages of planning or the dreaming of one day, here are 3 few things I wouldn’t forget!
1.) DON’T FORGET TO BOOK YOUR PHOTO + VIDEO TEAM BEFORE YOUR VENUE.
I know this sounds a little bit backwards. When you think wedding planning you naturally think that booking the venue where you will be getting married would be the natural first step. But here’s why we think that booking your photo + video team should be #1. When booking your venue, your documentation team can do a site visit with you to help you think of all of the things you might not think to ask. Does the venue have a rain plan? Where are good locations for first looks? Can you hang your dress from that arched window you fell in love with when you walked through the door???
2.) DON’T FORGET THE LITTLE DETAILS ON YOUR WEDDING DAY.
We don’t mean STRESSING over little details, we mean having them all there to be documented. That engagement print you sent out, the engraved perfume bottle your sister got you for your bridal shower, the wax seals you and your fiancé tirelessly stamped, the pin from your great grandmother. We ask all of our brides to have a “details box,” the day of the wedding given to their trusted person (mom, bestie, coordinator, MOH). We want to have a complete documentation of your day. One that feels like all that effort you’ve put into planning your whole day is actually reflected in your photos + videos.
3.) DON’T FORGET TO SCHEDULE IN TIME FOR YOU AND YOUR SPOUSE ON WEDDING DAY.
“Schedule in time”? I know right? The whole day is about the two of you, yet I’ve seen it where the bride and groom actually get very little time with just the two of them. Whether its a private meal, a sneak away sunset photo session, or an intimate last dance, try to schedule some block of time where you can look in each others eyes and have that “OMG WE ARE MARRIED!” moment without 100+ people watching.
Whether your day is right around the corner or still in the “one day,” phases, we want to be a part of it. Watching our couples exchange their vows, and shed their tears, and share their laughter with us is one of the most rewarding parts of our jobs. Let us be a part of helping you remember your day in more ways than one!
